On the left is Kyra in the Sunday Walcheren costume, on the right Merit in the Sunday costume from Nieuwland. Without faces, a timeless and universal image emerges, where the differences between the costumes become subtly visible in lines, fabrics, and bonnets. The sea before them enhances the feeling of peace, contemplation, and connection with the landscape.

The absence of direct expression gives the image an almost meditative power. It invites the viewer to give their own meaning to the moment – an ode to Zeeland heritage, carried by silence, form, and tradition.
