Zeeuws Meisje and UNESCO Geopark Schelde Delta
Traditional costume as an ode to landscape and identity
In a region where water, land, and history converge, this collaboration feels natural. For the UNESCO Geopark Schelde Delta, Zeeuws Meisje designed a special costume, inspired by the colors and identity of the Geopark.
A translation from landscape to image. From environment to traditional costume.
Making a special area visible
The UNESCO Geopark Schelde Delta is a unique area where nature, culture, and history are inextricably linked. It tells the story of the delta, shaped by water and time.
For Zeeuws Meisje, this is not an abstract story. It is the environment in which we live, work, and create.
That is why we wholeheartedly support the UNESCO Geopark Schelde Delta.
Traditional costume inspired by the landscape
For this collaboration, a new costume has been developed, based on the colors of the Geopark logo. Not a literal copy of existing traditional costume, but a contemporary interpretation where form, color, and meaning come together.
As with all our designs: based on tradition, with room for innovation and always with respect for heritage.
The costume forms a visual bridge between landscape and people. Between past and present.
Ambassadorship with meaning
Rem van den Bosch is connected to the UNESCO Geopark Schelde Delta as an ambassador, as an artist and photographer. In his work, the relationship between people, landscape, and identity consistently recurs.
With craft photography, he not only captures images but also stories. Stories that show how special this area is – and why it is valuable to make that visible.
Proud of where we live
This collaboration shows what Zeeuws Meisje stands for:
making heritage visible in a contemporary form, with an eye for environment and meaning.
The UNESCO Geopark Schelde Delta is not only a geographical area but a place with a story. A story we gladly continue to tell, in image, in traditional costume, and in art.
Working together on visibility
We are proud of this collaboration and look forward to what else may arise from it. Because the more people see how special this area is, the stronger the connection with landscape and heritage becomes.
